Learn More About Donating with DAF
Together we can end the suffering caused by age-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.
Lifespan Research Institute is a trusted nonprofit partner advancing high-impact science to extend healthy human lifespan. By recommending a grant through your donor-advised fund (DAF), you help drive critical longevity research that traditional funding sources often overlook.
DAF giving is a tax-efficient way to make a difference, allowing you to support our mission while maximizing the impact of your philanthropic strategy. Join us in our mission to add healthy years to every life.
A DAF (or donor-advised fund) is a charitable giving account that allows individuals, families, or organizations to make charitable contributions to nonprofit organizations over time, while receiving an immediate tax deduction for the contributions made to their DAF account.
You receive a tax deduction in the year you contribute to your DAF, even if the grants you make to charitable organizations happen in future years.
DAFs allow you to contribute more immediately tax-deductible income during higher income years, but gives you the flexibility of disbursing those donations to charitable organizations at your own pace over multiple years.
A DAF makes record-keeping simple. The DAF provider will handle your receipts and tax documentation, and consolidate all of your charitable contributions in a single source.
DAFs allow you to name beneficiaries or successors to continue your legacy.
Some DAF organizations (like Fidelity Charitable or Vanguard Charitable) allow for your DAF contributions to be invested so that the funds grow tax-free, thereby increasing your available grants.
